Contact UsWhat Are Chemical Peels?
Watt Plastic Surgery & Med Spa provides choices for the highest quality results from chemical peel facial treatments. Your professional chemical peel with exfoliating solutions (such as salicylic, glycolic, lactic, and trichloroacetic acids) will give you healthier, more radiant skin. At our Tampa, FL office, plastic surgeon Dr. Tony Watt offers chemical peel treatments that help to decrease skin flaws, including wrinkles, fine lines, scars, rough patches, hyperpigmentation problems, and more. Chemical peels eliminate dead, damaged skin cells by applying an individualized treatment on your skin, which causes the upper layer to peel off. As your skin heals and begins to repair and rejuvenate, you may see a clearer, smoother complexion. A chemical peel facial is a noninvasive way to make your complexion radiant and is appropriate for the face and neck. The various types of chemical peels available in our office include:
- VI Peel: Medical grade peel that targets cosmetic concerns related to aging, like fine lines, age spots, redness, and enlarged pores.
- Micro Peels: A mild peel for facial imperfections, like scars, wrinkles, and fine lines.
- Jessner Peels: Medical peel that helps hyperpigmentation, sun damage, and rough texturized skin.
- TCA Peels: Exfoliates to improve skin tone, texture, and clarity. It helps reduce fine lines, acne, and clogged pores.
- Blue Peel: Resurfaces the skin and reduces the look of blemishes, wrinkles, and fine lines.
- PRX Bio-Revitalizing Peel: Brightens the skin and increases radiance while correcting imperfections and stretch marks.
How Do Chemical Peels Work?
On the day of your appointment at Watt Plastic Surgery & Med Spa, we will have you lie in a relaxed position to administer your treatment. We'll ensure the skin is cleansed prior to applying the personalized solution to your face and/or neck. We will massage the solution onto the skin and let it set for the time determined during your consultation. Next, we will clean the solution off your skin and put on a neutralizing agent. You should bring sunscreen or a hat to wear outside after the peel to protect from UV exposure.
Watt Plastic Surgery & Med Spa Reviews
Such a great experience! Melina Doyle did my chemical peel - she was so kind, professional and went above and beyond what was expected. She also gave genuine non-‘salesy’ advice and suggestions which I really appreciated. Will definitely be back! Thanks Melina!
Dr. Watt and his entire staff are amazing! I would highly recommend Dr. Watt if you are thinking of plastic surgery. My results are life changing and he is a master at his craft. The office is also the place for all things skincare and would totally recommend their esthetician services ❤️ This is THE PLACE to be☺️
I’m SO pleased with everything. Everyone in the office is absolutely lovely and helpful. A huge thanks to the nurse Amy who’s very sweet and gave me so much support and attention after my incredible post op from breast augmentation with Dr Watt who did an amazing job. I was very anxious with my healing after the surgery and the two of them took the time to answer every concern, e-mail and calls from me without hesitation. Can’t say enough. I’m very lucky that I chose Dr Watt and his staff because their patience was incredible! (and work too). I also want to mention that esthetician Melina is a life savior! Beginning of last year I was struggling with my skin (acne, congested skin) and she literally gave me flawless skin! I can’t trust another one and I won’t. My acne problems are gone thanks to her.
I highly recommend Watt Plastic Surgery as your go-to destination for all your skincare needs. Recently, I had a Halo Laser treatment with the awesome Lisa, and my skin is absolutely glowing! Before I tell you about this, I want to share my other experiences at WPS that led me to this because, let's face it, aging gracefully is the goal, right? If good skin is the new silent luxury, then this is definitely the place to achieve it. I've been getting Botox injections from Meghan since I took advantage of a Black Friday special a few years ago, and she is literally the best. Meghan really listens and knows exactly how, where, and when you need it. At my last appointment, I asked her about my skin, and instead of pushing expensive fillers, she recommended the Halo treatment to boost collagen and improve the texture of my deep acne scars, along with overall aging. I love that she—and all the providers at WPS—are honest and truly care about your well-being, rather than just trying to sell products or services. So, I decided to go for it! A week before my Halo treatment, I met with Lisa, who was incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable and experienced with lasers. At this appointment, Alicia also performed a chemical peel on me, and just three days later, my skin felt the best it ever had. Thank you, Alicia! The Halo is more intense than most other common laser treatments, and I felt confident having it done by Lisa, a nurse, with real plastic surgeons present in the office—another thing I love about Watt. I did encounter an issue a few days after the laser treatment when my skin reacted with an acne breakout on my chin during the healing process. However, Lisa was immediately there to diagnose and prescribe a treatment that quickly resolved the issue. Now, three weeks later, I’m thrilled with my results! My pores are smaller, and my deeper wrinkles and acne scars are already visibly more plumped. I’m excited to see how the results will continue to improve over the next few months as my collagen rebuilds. I'm so glad I did this. I've also had the luxury of trying Moxi/BBL and a Diamond Glow facial with the sweetest provider, Tori. These treatments worked wonders on my sunspots and overall skin health. Tori explained that my skincare routine is like my diet, and seeing her is like going to the gym—you can’t out-train a poor diet! The office uses top-of-the-line equipment and carries medical-grade skincare products, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable about all of it. I know this review is lengthy, so if you're still with me, thank you. Overall, I cannot recommend Watt Plastic Surgery enough. If you've ever considered trying something, just give them a call and schedule a free consultation. Their team is full of talented professionals who will connect you with the right provider. I live a fair distance from the practice, but the drive is absolutely worth it. Watt Plastic Surgery gives me peace of mind, knowing that I'll be treated by qualified professionals with the experience to ensure successful and effective treatments.

Chemical Peel FAQs
What level should I choose for my chemical peel?
The best chemical peel for you will depend on your specific skin needs and aesthetic goals. In your consultation with Dr. Watt, he can help you choose which peel is right for your skin. A few factors you might consider are your general health, your skin type, the depth of your skin concerns, how long you can spend in recovery, and what you want the peel to accomplish. For your first peel, it may be better to select a lighter chemical peel and see how you like the results. After this, you and Dr. Watt may alter your treatment plan to decide the best chemical peel level for you.
Will my face hurt after a chemical peel?
Depending on the chemicals used, you may feel mild discomfort when it is on your skin. If you have a light peel, you may notice a little discomfort; however, it goes away quickly with the use of a small fan. Medium and deep peels are better for deeper skin blemishes and give you longer-lasting results, but they are usually more uncomfortable. Topical anesthetics, medications, and soothing ointments may be used to help you feel more comfortable during your treatment. Dr. Watt or a member of his team will go over how to care for your skin after a peel to maintain your results.
Can I combine a chemical peel with other treatments?
A chemical peel may be combined with another skin treatment at Watt Plastic Surgery & Med Spa. During your initial consultation, be open with Dr. Watt when describing your skin wants so he can develop a unique treatment plan to best address your goals. Your plan might include adding an injectable treatment for wrinkles to refresh your entire face.
