What to Expect from Platysmal Band Treatment
There are many different approaches to how our team performs a neck lift. We'll evaluate several factors to determine which technique suits your needs. Some of the factors we discuss will include:
- The current elasticity of the neck
- The amount of skin present in the neck
- The type of banding present as a result of muscle separation (platysmal bands)
During the neck lift, a small incision gets made under the chin. The muscles get sutured together to create a foundation for the skin to heal and naturally re-drape. This neck lift treatment may also get combined with laser resurfacing treatments. It is a minimal procedure where we'll provide oral sedation or local anesthesia. The recovery period is generally quick. In cases of severe neck laxity, we may need to take a different approach involving incisions made behind the ears. My experience was beyond my expectations at Watt Plastic Surgery. Dr. Girardot is incredible & truly cares about her patients.
